O Sweet Nuthin'

mad libs!

Liberty of London is best known for it’s beautiful, breezy 60s florals that make me wish I had a garden to putter around in, rather than a rusted fire escape and neighbors who seem to find Limp Bizkit the epitome of good taste. Ergo, a Liberty/MAC collaboration is… ecstasy. Shade names include Dame’s Desire, Birds and Berries, Bough Grey, and Dirty Plum. I am dying. Via Temptalia, a first few photos. This collection will be in stores March 11.

My new Givenchy rubber cowboy booties, bought at Barney’s NY for almost literally a song. Amazing. I feel like a rockabilly vampire creeper. And at 70%, you could too. I think the only size left on the Barney’s site is a 9, but Shopbop has more sizes (admittedly not at the 70% discount, but whatever.)

a tall order

Love these platform oxfords by Rachel Comey. I would wear with shredded cuffed jeans, white oxford shirt, strong shouldered black blazer, and slicked back hair. Red lipstick and maybe some chains too. Too bad they are $345.

You can get ’em at Shopbop.

I hope you all had a very holly jolly one!

I ate and drank to an excessive degree. We got back from my parents fairly late last night, and I got to dash off to work at 7 this morning. Wash, rinse, repeat tomorrow.

My wonderful boyfriend gave me the following:

Comes hiiiiighly recommended, gorgeous photos, and well worthy of the considerable space it takes up in our tiny apartment.

And, Tony Duquette: More is More, the enormous book containing some of Mr. Duquette’s enormous ouevre. I’m crazy about his work. Without a bit of dillution, his style would not have a place in my home, but that said, it’s incredible. It’s unapologetically over-the-top, but with a great sense of humor and exuberance. Fantastic book.

TheOutnet.com is having a ridiculous (try 85% off on things like the sequined minidress Kate Hudson and the rest of the world are wearing) flash Balmain sale. Lots of the items are sold out, but good lord. A few highlights (the calfskin vest nearly killed me):

I drop too much on beauty sometimes, it’s true. (See Rouge d’Armani in 400, a.k.a. best investment ever)

But I am not quite at decadent $50 pomades. Yet.

That said, if you are, this is the one.

Oribe 24k Gold Pomade. I noticed it a while ago and tried it at Bloomie’s last week.

It’s pretty stunning (although I did end up with a metallic smudge on my forehead I noticed later at the hairdresser…)

Last minute gift idea? It’s here.

(And much like the elusive Rouge #400, seems to be sold out most places. Damn my good taste!)
